Circle is a team of people from different backgrounds that have come together with a common belief. That the primary purpose of technology is to help people spend more time enjoying life. It's a simple straight forward belief that guides us in our designs, our advice, our installs and in everything we do.

How it all began

Circle was founded by Richard Cassin who moved to the Queenstown-Lakes district at the start of 2018 after spending his entire adult life living in Auckland and working in the home technology industry. In need of a change of pace and scenery, Richard moved to Lake Hawea to take some time out to spend with his young family. Quickly falling in love with the region, Richard built a home for his family and now calls Lake Hawea home.

Armed with a fresh perspective on life and a wealth of experience in the home tech industry, Richard saw this as an opportunity to share his skills and knowledge by working closely with local electricians helping to up-skill them while educating their customers on technology in the home. Circle was created with a focus on utilising technology in the home to enable people to spend more time enjoying life and doing the things they love the most.

Our Vision

There is an all too common theme in the industry of people installing technology and “automation” just because it’s available and not because it is of benefit.

Our vision is to collaborate with electricians, builders and architects, educate people around the real benefits of technology and ensure that technology is being used in the right way making a positive difference in people’s lives.

The Wheel

One of the most simplest forms of technology, the wheel has transformed the world we live in. It makes our everyday lives easier and more enjoyable, without us even having to think or worry about it. This is how technology is meant to be used. This is what we at Circle believe in and stand for; technology, unassumingly making a positive difference to the day to day living of our lives.

Why the name “Circle”?

The shape of the circle represents many things we believe in and stand for, from the planet we live on, to our “round table” mentality and to the greatest and most simple pieces of technology, the wheel.

Circle represents the earth; an ecosystem where everything has its place and works together for the greater good i.e. our team, our products, solutions and advice we give to our customers.
